Looking for somewhere to sail?

Wraysbury's 60 or so acres of water are well suited to one or two person dinghies without spinnakers. The main classes are the Enterprise for two people, the Solo, a single handed traditional designed medium performance boat and the ubiquitous Laser. Other classes sailed include the Wayfarer, Byte, Topper and Comet for adults and the Optimist for children.

New to the sport?

Call in to see our clubhouse situated well above water level so you can see the action or laze in the sun by the water. Learn to sail in one of our club boats which is ideal for beginners before you really take the plunge. Or you can start by crewing a more experienced sailor in a two man Enterprise or Wayfarer dinghy. Start with our three-part introduction to sailing. The sooner you start the sooner you will be able to enjoy a sport and passion to last your whole life through.

Somewhere for the children?

Wraysbury has a keen Optimist fleet. The Optimist is an ideal boat for youngsters from five or six years old up to fifteen. It can suit abilities from the complete novice through to International standard helms. The last event at Wraysbury for the youngsters attracted over forty enthusiasticsailors who had a whale of a time.

And for the teenagers...

As your children grow thier needs change. In sailng terms, they want to make that step up from the Optimist to a full sized boat. We help them through that transition, with fun and in safety, with our regular Youths On Boats (YOBs) sailing sessions. We hope, by this means, to help them carry their enjoyment of the sport through into adulthood.
